How to make clutch easier to pull?
I've got a shovelhead that I'm converting back to hand clutch after almost killing myself from the foot clutch slipping in the rain and eating shit as a result...so before I die from that, I wanna go back to hand clutch.
Problem is, my left hand is all weak from a prior crash a few years back (see the pattern?) so I was wondering if the Moose racing EZ pull clutch will work on an old harley and if not , whatever else you guys may know? Thanks for any input and a hello to all here as this is my first post ever.
Cheerth!

They sell hydraulic clutch conversions for shovels.......
Also, could possibly run a mouse trap.
Or softer springs......possibly less springs, but I dunno how well that would perform.I've got a hydraulic setup on my shovel now....but its hooked up to an extended forward/ jockey job.
I may pull off the hydro setup soon if you're interested......

We all fall down sometimes, no shame in that.
Dude I work with rides to work every day either on his Pan or his Flattie. Has a foot clutch on both bikes.
Cool setup on the Flat-Head where he has a clutch lever and a foot pedal tied to the clutch.
Still have to shift by hand but can hold the lever if you want to put your foot down.
Trick is to make keeper/retainer(s) so the cable sleeve can't slip out of the clutch-cable-perches when slack.

And the "easy pull" kits are for ball and ramp style clutch rod actuators. Like in late five and all six speeds. Harley Transes of course.
Won't work in four speeds at all. Early five speeds can be converted but you have to have the later trap door, end-cover, guts and cable.

There is a product on the market call the IMP .... Uses a design that is like the mousetrap...Booster spring...It bolts onto the handle-bar clutch lever for 82 and up models.... You would need to change out your levers/switch housings to the later.
Could also go to a Pro-Clutch made by Primo....

if you are using the Rivera pro clutch, You can also use their lock up
clutch in conjunction with the "soft" diaphragm (pro clutch) spring, the soft
spring allows easy clutch lever action. The lock up devise with the centrifugal
weights applies pressure against the pressure plate as the RPMs are increased, so
there is no issues with clutch slippage when using the softer pro clutch diaphragm spring. Also if you don't have a quality clutch cable, simply upgrading to a better Cable such as Terry
Cable or Barnett that use teflon on the inside, will usually lessen the amount of effort required
to pull in the clutch lever on the bars.Or maybe you can just modify your foot clutch peddle so it is not so slippery when wet, like
maybe adding some rubber to it, or jagged teeth. I use an MX style foot peddle on mine, works
great.

Another thing that helps a ton is the "trigger" levers from Kuryakyn. The little trigger allows you to do most of the pulling with your index finger, which is by far the strongest finger on your hand. Or at least it normally is... I don't know about your case, with you having previously damaged your hand. Anyways... these things make a huge, huge difference and you'd never believe it by just looking at them or by me trying to describe them. I've dealt with numerous people over the years that had "tried everything" and the trigger levers ended up working for them. Best of luck to you.

My buddy has a mousetrap eliminator with a rotary top. WAY easier to pull than my mousetrap with ratchet top and pro clutch. Do you know anyone with a MT eliminator (or any other setup) you can try out to see what will work for you? This guy's clutch is easier to pull than another friend's 2014 Dyna. Easiest clutch Ive felt.
